ASANO Yae 浅野弥衛
In 1914, he was born in Suzuka-shi, Mie prefecture.
In his twenties, he met Noda Riichi who is a poet. He learned contemporary overseas arts from Noda, also he was inspired by Noda’s sharp sense of criticism. Then he decided to be an abstract painting artist.
In 1934 during world war Ⅱ, he was dispatched to China as an active soldier. After that, he became a fellow of Association of Artistic Culture in 1950.
He kept maintaining that he would like to establish the abstraction from the cultural climate of Japan, which only Japanese people can establish, and had been seeking the possibility of the abstract art.
Until his later years, he kept creating works energetically, which influenced younger generation as well as contemporary artist. He passed away in 1996.
